If you've ever watched an Korean show, you'll definitely help but notice the perfection of the skins of the main characters of the shows that are vanishing from the network. But how do they do it? Follow Cosmetics Generation and you too will be able to have a porcelain skin similar to the ones they have.
What exactly are what is the Korean skincare routine that we hear so much about these days? They are precise steps that Asian women, particularly Koreans, use to care for their skin. Based on the different types, it can vary between 7 and 10 steps. None of these steps must be completed morning and night.
Yes, taking care of your skin requires you to care for it in the morning and in the evening. In the morning to prepare and protect the skin for the day ahead In the evening, remove all the dirt and impurities we have accumulated during the day.
STEP 1&2: Double Cleansing
The first step that I believe is the most crucial is cleansing. In Korean skin care, people typically use double cleansing. What exactly is double cleansing? The practice to use two different types of cleanser. The first is an oil-based cleanser that assists in removing make-up. It is essential in the evening but is a good option during the daytime. Another option is to cleanse with foaming cleanser, which assists in removing any residue. The skin is fresh and ready for the next steps. Personally, I would recommend Etude House's Real Art Cleansing Oil Moisture Advanced for the first step and Paula's Choice Clam Nurishing Cleanser to finish the second.
STEP 3: Toner
The third step is toner. Obviously a non-alcoholic toner. Alcohol although it remains little on the skin because it evaporates quickly is one of the most irritating ingredients for the skin along with perfumes and scents. Toners are designed to cleanse the skin thoroughly to eliminate impurities and bacteria and balances its pH following the first step. It also serves to eliminate those product residues that escaped the cleansers. A product that I personally find very good to use for this can be the Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner by Haru Haru Wonder.
Step 4: Exfoliant
Then we can look at the exfoliant, which based on the type of exfoliant and the type of skin can be used every day or at least every other day. For example an exfoliant with a mild chemical is suitable for use daily, a mechanical exfoliant is not more than 3 times a week. Exfoliants, as the name suggests, is utilized to gently eliminate cellulite from the surface on which it is applied, in this case that is, the face. Consider the 22% BHA Liquid Exfoliant available from Paula's Choice. I have found it to be exceptional.
But does this Korean skincare routine actually that effective? Let's look at the next steps!
5. Face Mask
Then we can look at the face mask, which is meant to be applied at night, and is a possible fabric one, which can be used all day long or a clay one for oily skin. In this instance, every other day would be ideal. If you're using clay masks such as the amusing Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask, it is recommended to use it after cleansing and before the exfoliator and toner. If it's made from fabric, it's good to use it afterward and could be used in place for serum that typically is applied after exfoliation. The face mask serves depending on your skin type, to add moisture for dry skin or to get rid of excess sebum in case of oily skin. It is also beneficial if you have irritated skin using a mask with soothing ingredients.
STEP 6: Serum
The serum serves us to add specific ingredients to the skin without adding too much weight to the skin. It's a very versatile product that could be used alone in case of oily skin or with other products in the case dry skin. Many women opt to apply either the essence or the serum, in the case of dry skin. Both are great. A good example of this productthat I have personally tested is IUnik's Tea Tree Relief.
STEP 7: Essence
Essence is a light serum that is almost watery, but it provides hydration as well as other ingredients that maybe the serum didn't have. In summer, it's perfect for those with oily skin as when used alone it doesn't weigh the skin down, however, it contains ingredients that can improve our skin. Try your hand at the Galacto Niacin 97 Power Essence by Purito, I recommend it!
