1. Identify the development needs. Boil it into the most notable three development needs, or in short, "what are you currently hoping to get coming from a program?" Typical the desired info is "learn how you can become more strategic", "leading change", or some mixture of functional knowledge (finance, sales, and marketing). There could be is often a timeframe that's better or worse as opposed to runners (i.e., next 6 months, steer clear of the summer, etc...)
2. Search your preferred executive education providers.
3. Once you find one or two potential programs, look for a good fit. Glance at the recommended participant level, participant mix, industry mix, and company participation.
4. Read the instructors, browse the bios. Evaluate the everyday agenda, topics, and activities. Again, you are considering a good fit for your participant and his/her development needs. Speak to the provider's Exec Ed Director, or someone that will help you find out more on the programs.
Ask other's if they have knowledge of this program.
5. Speak to past participants when possible, or someone accountable for leadership/executive development development.
6. Geography can be an aspect. Hunting for a global experience? Than get a good blend of global participants, or even better, attend a course away from U.S.
7. Period of program: Programs range from 2-3 days to six weeks. I honestly do not know how one meet the expense of to attend a 6 week program currently, unless they are over a sabbatical or their business is just looking to get reduce them for a time.
8. Check out the amenities'. Alright, I understand, this is a learning experience and never a vacation, but high quality food, accommodations, and surroundings all are area of the total experience. Also check if the area and meals is included in the program.
9. Factors which should not be a part of a decision: alumni relationships, timing coinciding together with the NCAA playoffs, and catchy program titles.
10. All things considered on this, narrow it right down to 2-3 program, and then select based on best fit, timing, and charges.
