Ruby tinggal di Ukraina, ia lahir saat orang tua mereka berlibur. Ruby adalah salah satu anak yang dimanjakan namun jangan salah, sifat kemandirian Ruby masih ada di dirinya. Ruby dapat dibilang anak emas dalam keluarganya. Dalam masa kecilnya itu, Ruby sudah bisa membuat barang-barang menarik dari bahan bekas, lalu dijualnya barang-barang itu. Jadilah penghasilan keluarganya.
Orangtua Ruby sangat merawatnya dengan baik, begitu pun kakak laki-lakinya. Abangnya selalu mengajarkan ilmu-ilmu sihir yang ringan, agar saat besar nanti Ruby tidak bingung dan buntu.
