- it is not a religion but a relationship with god
- the purpose of our life is to know god more
- john 1:18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known
- mathew 16:13-17
- 13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”
14They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
15“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
16Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
17Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven
- holy spirit reveals to simon and peter when jesus asked who he was. this also shows that god is in heaven
- john 12:44-50
-44 Then Jesus cried out, “Whoever believes in me does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me.
45The one who looks at me is seeing the one who sent me.
46 I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.
47“If anyone hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge that person. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.
48There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; the very words I have spoken will condemn them at the last day.
49For I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me to say all that I have spoken. 50I know that his command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say.”
- jesus is saying what god is telling him to say.
- jesus is the revelation of the father.
- if we here jesus speak, god is speaking through him.
- if we believe in jesus we believe in god
- who sees him sees god.
- 47 god sent him to save the world but not to judge it
- john 3:17
- god didnt send his son to condemn it but to save it.
- jesus is always is in agreement with god.
- john 5:16-23
- jesus is doing what the father is showing him to do. it is god that is working and he is working too.
- jesus answered- most assuredly the son can do nothing himself but when he sees his father he does it.
- if we dishonor the son we dishonor the father because they are working as one
- john 16:5-15
- in this we can see the trinity working very well' whatever belongs to the father belongs to the son.
