Ayurvedic massaging follows the same principles of ancient Indian medicine. Ayurvedic massage aims to increase the flow 'Pran' while maintaining healthy levels 'Rakta. It has similar benefits in stress management, lowering blood pressure, and reducing stress. There are many massages available. Each one targets a particular problem area, such as the neck and shoulders, feet or back. Ayurvedic massage uses the following ingredients:

carrier oils. Carrier oils are essential oils which help give massages their penetrating power. Examples of carrier oils include: soybean oil, coconut oil, almond oil, palm oil, and sesame oil. These oils allow the massage therapists easy access to the patient's skin. Carriers oils should not ever be used on sensitive skin. You can use your judgment to ensure that the carrier oil you choose suits your needs.

Different herbs. Ayurvedic massages include the use of a variety herbs. These herbs are chosen for their therapeutic and soothing properties. Kapha - This herb has been well known for its ability calm and soothe the body and mind. Kapha has many chemical branches, including saponins. Before beginning massage therapy, Kapha oils can be massaged into the scalp. Kapha can be used to treat sunburnt skin, wounds and rashes.

Tulsi: This herb has been used in Ayurvedic medicine since long to reduce stress and improve mood. Tulsi oils are often added during a massage therapy session to enhance relaxation and ease stress. Tulsi increases the speed of the heart beat and stimulates blood flow to the muscles. Tulsi oil is believed to reduce stress and blood pressure. People who have Tulsi oil massaged on their scalps have reported a significant decrease in stress-related disorders.
