Bangla Doctor Released From Captivity
Dr. Misbahul Ferdous, the first British-born Bangla Doctor, has been released from captivity in Bangladesh. A forced marriage is the biggest threat to the human rights of women in the country, and a man has saved a woman's life by performing surgery in a forced marriage. Thankfully, this man was not killed during the attempted abduction of a pregnant woman in Bangladesh. He was a member of the National Health Service in the United Kingdom.

Since the first episode of 'Bangla Doctor' aired in April, Dr. Sarita Shah has been a leader in the fight against illiteracy and poverty in Bangladesh. Previously, he worked for the Ford Foundation, the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, and the World Bank. He received his medical degree from the Dhaka Medical College and his master's degree in obstetrics and gynecology from the College of Physicians and Surgeons. In addition to the Foundation, he spent time studying at Johns Hopkins University and the Johns Hopkins University. His work has benefited over 1.2 million people and he has helped educate aspiring doctors and entrepreneurs.

A homeopathic doctor was hacked to death on Friday by machete-wielding assailants in western Bangladesh. Professor Saifuzzaman was also seriously injured in the attack.
