James Whitfield Thomson
The novel The Ledge is the first book by writer James Whitfield Thomson . The book is set in Pittsburgh and follows a young man's struggles to succeed in the United States Navy after serving in Vietnam. After the war, Thomson was an early member of Andre Dubus' writers' workshop. He lives in Natick, Massachusetts. In addition to his novels, Thomson has written several short stories, poems, and essays.
