The problem is that it all depends. If you're referring to a single hand of poker, luck is much more important than if we are talking about a whole session or many sessions in total. In a single hand you have to be lucky enough to be dealt a good starting hand and be lucky enough that some else wasn't dealt a better one. If you get dealt KK, you won't consider it lucky if someone to your left is dealt AA. You can still "get lucky" by hitting a king during the flop. Skill is important even in a single hand. One can outplay an adversary. It takes skill and knowledge to get the most out of a winning hand. But, over longer sessions is where skill really shows through.

The game of controlled aggression has become maniacal at times. Many players have been seen praying with or playing with hole cards that should never be used. The first thing to remember when playing tight-aggressive is to stick to the premium starting hands. It is common to go one or two rounds without getting a solid starting hand to bet: Patience is the virtue you must possess if you desire to succeed. You should only play premium hands in two situations: to enhance your table appearance or to protect the blinds. Depending on the game you're playing, the betting limit could double at any point, so all bets would be made at $20.
