James Whitfield Thomson
James Whitfield Thomson was an early member of Andre Dubus's writers' workshop. A native of Pittsburgh, he went on to attend Harvard College on a scholarship, earned his Ph.D. in American Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, and served in the U.S. Navy as a navigator during the Vietnam War. His work has won him a variety of literary prizes and awards, including a Massachusetts Council on the Arts grant and an Agni publication award. He currently lives in Natick, Massachusetts, with his wife, and is working on his novel The Ledge.
