The debut novel by former U.S. Navy and sales executive James Whitfield Thomson, "The Jukebox King," is now available in paperback. It is a fictional account of the life of a Vietnam war survivor and his life as a writer. The book is based on the writer's own experiences. It is also a memoir of his time as a navigator in the United States Navy.
The novel was published in 2013 by Sourcebooks. The author lives in Naperville, Illinois. His second novel, "Jukebox King," is currently in development as a screenplay. The book is a fictional account of the death of his sister in 1974, and Thomson hopes to adapt it into a film. The first book is a memoir, and he is working on a third novel, as well.
In addition to his work, Thomson has won numerous awards and honors. He was a member of Andre Dubus's writers' workshop and has received a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. His first novel, "Jukebox King," is now in development for the big screen. A follow-up novel, "The Ledge," is in the works. It is based on the life of the author's sister, who died of a heart attack while playing a guitar.
