Women more likely to talk about spouse on Facebook than men_ Study~2
Women more likely to talk about spouse on Facebook than men: Study

Husband ranks among the most frequently used words by women on Facebook, but the word wife is hardly mentioned among men, a new study has shown.
Friends, family and husband were among the most commonly used words by women on the social media platform, but the word wife didn't even register as one of the most commonly used words by men.
The results are part of a study that analysed the language of 65,000 Facebook users to understand how men and women express themselves on social media.
A new study has found that women use more compassionate and polite language on Facebook than men. Men swear more, used angrier language and are more likely to talk about objects
The study, published in the journal , found that women use more compassionate and polite language on Facebook, while men use language that is more hostile and impersonal.
'We found that women mentioned friends, family and social life more often, whereas men swore more, used angrier and argumentative language and discussed objects more than people,' said Dr. Margaret Kern, one of the study's authors and psychology lecturer at the University of Melbourne.

The team of psychologists and computer scientists used computer analyses to automatically identify language topics made up of single words used by women and men.
Among the top words used by men were government, win, lose, bet, fight and sports.
Men also showed a high incidence of swearing - words like s*** and f***.
The word groups used by men were strongly linked to sports and competition, politics and specific interests or activities, such as shooting guns, playing musical instruments, or playing video games.
The most strongly female-linked topics included words describing positive emotions, like excited or happy, social relationships and intensive adverbs like sooo, sooooo and ridiculously.
Researchers analysed the language of 65,000 Facebook users to understand how men and women express themselves on social media
'In many ways, the topics most used by women versus men are not surprising as they fit common gender stereotypes,' Dr. Margaret Kern said.
'The computational methods let us make visible what the human mind does to automatically categorise people and things that we encounter in our everyday life.'
The study also found that males and females used equally assertive language.
Dr. argumentative research paper topics , from Stony Brook University, said that looking at language in social media offered a fresh perspective on understanding gender differences.
'Here we were able to use a novel technique to explore psychological dimensions,' he said.
'While some previous work suggests men are more assertive, the language in Facebook didn't reflect this.'
