If you find the above method too direct, you can try shooing the snake into a big garbage can. You can guide the snake inside the bin with a broom by putting the bin on the ground. Avoid hitting or pushing the snake; you do not want to cause any injury. Snakes will not be able to climb out of the bin because it has smooth sides.
Use a shirt and a pillowcase to remove the snake if it is inside the house. Place your shirt or light blanket over the snake then scoop it up and put it into the pillowcase. In case the snake emerges, place the pillowcase inside a garbage can or large storage container. Using an airtight lid, cover the container. Now that you can transport your snake, you are safe.
