Raleigh's north side is home to a deadly zebra cobra found on a glue trap.
Following many hours of consultation and preparation by officers from Raleigh police and animal control, a glue trap snared a venomous zebra cobra on a north Raleigh porch Wednesday night, ending an eventful 48-hour period that attracted attention throughout North Carolina.
A red bucket was used to guide the cobra into a safe location where all glue could be removed from its body.
An earlier image captured by WRAL show the snake scrabbling to the front porch of a house on Sandringham Drive, crawling through the siding. A hood was visible wherever it turned its head.

Camera crews were moved back after the officers confirmed it was the snake before attempting to catch it.
Early Tuesday, early Tuesday morning, a 911 call from inside the same house sparked the search.

WRAL reporters Kasey Cunningham, Joe Fisher & Matt Talhelm, along with multiplatform producers Heather Leah & Maggie Brown;
The city of Raleigh, N.C., is the state capital. Following hours of consultation and preparation by Raleigh police and animal control officers, a glue trap ultimately trapped a venomous zebra cobra on a north Raleigh porch Wednesday night, capping an incident that drew widespread attention.
Cobras were placed inside red buckets and taken to a safe location so the glue could be removed completely from their bodies.
An earlier video interview had captured a striped snake crawling onto a porch on Sandringham Drive from the siding of a house. A hood was visible wherever it turned its head.
Camera crews had to be redirected after Animal Control officers confirmed it was a snake before moving in to try to capture it.
A 911 call from the same location prompted the search early Tuesday morning.

A neighbor, Joan Nelson, said she is relieved the ordeal is over.
I feel a lot safer, said she. I feel extremely happy. It feels good to be able to walk on the deck and outside. Despite that, I feel terrible for the snake.

The snake is a zebra cobra and can spit up to nine feet long, making even a morning dog walk a daunting task. African Snakebite Institute has described the snake as very dangerous. It is possible that the venom can damage a victim's nervous system.
One who is poisoned by the cobra would immediately feel pain, swelling, irritation, vomiting, and diarrhea. In the next few hours, a heavy fever would occur, as well as respiratory difficulty.
A veterinarian at Avian and Exotic Animal Care, Salina Locke, treats all sorts of animals there.
The cobras in this species are not typically biting. It is more likely that they will spray their venom . They are very accurate and go straight for the eyes.
Despite the risks involved, Locke doesn't recommend buying this snake for a pet.
People tend to get bitten most often when they're sleeping. Bite victims could be plagued with health problems for years, studies show.
During a search on Tuesday afternoon, police searched the home on 6917 Chamonix Place, near where the cobra was last seen.
In March, police visited the home four times because of an animal problem. They returned Monday and Tuesday after seeing the zebra cobra on a porch about a half mile away.
Keith and Rebecca Gifford live at that address, according to county records. A Facebook account associated with Keith Giffords shows several photos of snakes, which he identifies as being his son's, Christopher.
On TikTok, Christopher Gifford has over 460000 followers. A zebra cobra that is seven feet long is claimed by him on one of his posts.
