Brow linting - what's it and how does it work?
It's the hottest new treatment that's everyone wants to try Lamination of the brows are two words on all brow lovers' lips.


The results can be seen for themselves, offering beautiful brows with a more full look without the need for expensive eyebrow products. If you compare the before and post photos it's difficult to believe both pictures are an identical pair of natural brows.


I decided to test the treatment test in the name of beauty journalism. Following searching through a variety of Treatwell listings, I booked in for Thea Beauty in London.

What is brow lamination?



"Brow lamination" involves straightening and lifting the hairs using the use of a chemical solution. This lets hairs have more flexibility to move them to your desired form as well as fill in any gaps or areas that aren't covered my therapist Thea describes.


After your natural brow hairs is straightened, the fixative solution is used to maintain the straightness of your hair and add any tint you would like. It results in more fuller-looking brows which stay put when straightened, lasting up to six weeks.


Before you undergo the procedure is performed, you must do your homework to ensure you'll get the results you're hoping for. Social media can be your friend for this - I picked Thea as her Instagram photos of her work represented what I wanted for my eyebrows.



What's the difference between microblading or brow lamination?



While brow lamination kit involves a therapist using semi-permanent dyes to create brows, brow lamination straightens out and lifts the natural hairs in order to create a an elongated and feathered appearance without tattoos.

Brow lamination before and after





My natural eyebrows (left) haven't been as sparse than they should be but I'd be surprised if there was enough hair on my head to be the cause of the "after" photo above. The redness in my brow as seen in the right-hand image is caused by stray hairs that were that were waxed and tweezed. They dropped quickly when I left the salon.

In for the first few hours following the procedure, it's crucial to keep your brows completely dry and not touch them. Following this, Thea advised me to keep the area moisturised with an oil or cream.



How much will the cost of brow lagging?





Brow laminates can cost anything between PS45 up to PS100. Prices can differ depending on where you're based, who performs the procedure and if they charge for any accessories, such as tinting.


I'll definitely return for more brow-lamination treatments in the near future in order to keep my eyebrows full and feathered. It's not hard to see the results!
