- Subanon (also spelled Subanen or Subanun) is an indigenous group to the Zamboanga peninsula area, particularly living in the mountainous areas of Zamboanga del Sur and Misamis Occidental, Mindanao Island, Philippines. The Subanon people speak the Subanon language.

-The Manobo are several people groups who inhabit the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. They speak one of the languages belonging to the Manobo language family. Their origins can be traced back to the early Malay peoples, who came from the surrounding islands of Southeast Asia. Today, their common cultural language and Malay heritage help to keep them connected.

-The Bilaan or B`laan is a tribal community of Southern Mindanao, the name of this indigenous group comes from the words Bla and An, meaning Opponent People. The Bilaans in South Cotabato was renowned hunters and food gatherers, they hunted wild animals and were reaping grains, root crops, fruits, and herbs in the once vast open space of cogonal land, known as Kolon Datal, nowadays Koronadal City.

-The Tboli people are one of the indigenous peoples of South Cotabato in Southern Mindanao. In the body of ethnographic and linguistic literature on Mindanao, their name is variously spelled Tboli, T'boli, Tböli, Tagabili, Tagabilil, Tagabulul, and Tau Bilil.

-The Mandaya is a peace-loving yet bold ethnic group that helped shape Philippine history in the south but became almost unrecognizable as they rose to prominence. The first province in Mindanao, the old Caraga, had its capital in the town of Caraga in present-day Davao Oriental .

-The Mansaka is an ethnic group found in the southern part of the Philippines, particularly in the provinces of Davao del Norte and Compostela Valley. They believe in the God called Magbabaya.

-The Tiruray, one of the ethnic groups that live in this area, have retained much of their own religion in spite of their proximity to the Maguindanao of the Cotabato Valley. They live in the territory bounded by the Tamontaca River to the north, the Tran River to the south, the coast to the west, and the Cotabato Valley on the east.

-They are a nomadic tribe, traveling from one mountain to another, looking for fertile soil for a fruitful harvest. The name Higaonon is derived from the words higa meaning living, the word goan, which means mountains, and the word onon meaning people. All together these words form the description of the tribe as "people of the living mountains."

-The Bagobo constitute one of the largest groups among the indigenous peoples of southern Mindanao. They are composed of three (3) sub-groups, namely the TAGABAWA, the CLATA or GUIANGAN, and the UBO. Although they belong to one socio-linguistic group, BAGOBO, they also differ in some ways, such as the dialects, dance steps, costumes, and color preferences to mention a few.

-The Tagakaolo live on the island of Mindanao in the southern Philippines. They are located in an area between the interior uplands and the western coast of the Davao Gulf. The Tagakaolo are known for using mother of pearl and embroidery in patterns inspired by nature and mythological figures. Cross-stitching, beading, and embroidery figure prominently in the traditional fabrics of the T’boli, whose patterns are inspired by flowers, leaves, human figures, and the sun

-The Maranao people have lived on the Southern Philippine island of Mindanao since at least the 13th century. “Maranao” means “people of the lake” referring to Lake Lanao in the province of Lanao del Sur. While the majority of Maranao live in the area surrounding Lake Lanao, many have relocated to Manila as well as to other regions.

-The Tausūg or Suluk, are an ethnic group of the Philippines and Malaysia, small population can also be found in the northern part of North Kalimantan, Indonesia. The Tausūg is part of the wider political identity of Muslims of Mindanao, Sulu, and Palawan.

-The Kalagan live on the island of Mindanao in the southern Philippines. They are located in an area between the interior uplands and the western coast of the Davao Gulf. These Kalagan are mainly of the Tagakaolo Kalagan branch. They have converted to Islam either through intermarriage or through contact with their close neighbors, the Magindanaw.

-During colonial times the Spaniards branded the inhabitants of Basilan as Yakan, a mispronunciation of the word yakal, the name Basilan has originated from two words Basi (iron) and Balani (magnate). Centuries ago the island was thickly covered by the yakal trees. The typical physical characteristics of these tribal folks, tall, brown skin, slanting eyes, black hair, and high-bridged noses, distinct them from other ethnic Filipino groups. The Yakan have their own identifiable culture and are culturally and by religion-related to other Moro groups.

-Palawan tribes, other Filipino peoples, other Austronesian peoples. The Palawan tribal people, also known as the Palawano or the Palaw'an, are an indigenous ethnic group of the Palawan group of islands in the Philippines. Palawanos are more popularly known as Palawans, which is pronounced faster than the name of the province.
