3 Wishes

Crrrkkkkk, I open the basement door and walk in. Squeak! I hear the mice in the corner. I walk towards my great grandma's "Memory Chest" as the sticker on the old chest says. I need it for a social studies project. I open the chest, on top I see a lantern thats gold and has a small opening at the end. I lift up the lantern and bring it to a chair so I can sit down. I observe the lantern thoroughly. I rub the lantern gently to get the dust off of it. All of a sudden, "Hello everybody!" said the creature that stood before me. I look up and see a large blue thing with no feet but what looks likes a tail. The creature has a black beard and ponytail, gold cuff bracelets, one gold earring, a gold cuff at the bottom of the ponytail, and a red belt that was under his belly-button. I screamed, dropped the lantern, and ran. Then I turned around and looked at the genie again. "Wait a minute, aren't you from Aladdin" I asked. "I am Genie" he said.

"After Aladdin died, Jasmine didn't want to remember her love for him so she packed away everything that brought back memories. She put me in the chest of her memories. It's been 50 years my dear, 50 long, cold, years.", stated Genie. "Wow, do I get three wishes?" I asked. Genie nodded yes. Right away I yelled, "I wish for a pet jaguar!" Poof! Standing in front of me and Genie was a large jaguar that looked hungry. "I take it back" I told Genie. Genie replied, "You can't take it back you can just wish it away! DO IT!" I screamed as loud as I could over the jaguar's roar, "I WISH I HAD NO PET JAGUAR!" Poof! "Is it gone?", I mumbled. Genie and I looked; we were safe. I was saving my last wish and we both knew it was a good idea. We hugged but after about five seconds, creek! The door opened and my mom peeked in. "Hid(e)-ey mom, how are you?" I quickly stated. "I am good. What are you doing down here?" My mom asked. I replied, "oh just getting great grandma's memory chest for a...project." She walked out of the basement and Genie came back out. We stared at each other relieved that my mom didn't see Genie.

"That was close." I stated. Genie nodded yes. We walked out the door ready to go outside for some fresh air. We bolted out the door just in time and started walking towards the ice cream shop. "So how did you get back in the bottle?", I asked Genie. "Well, she just got the bottle and pushed me in it but I wasn't moving a bit. She started crying so I just went in myself. Five years later she passed as well and became a genie like me. She changed her name to Estelle and got trapped in a bottle herself." Genie answered. "Oh", I said. We grabbed our mint chocolate chip ice creams and skipped home. We went into my room and I asked, "I',m guessing itstime for my last wish right?" Genie sadly nodded his head yes. "Ok here it goes" I said," I wish... I wish, that... I got it! I wish that Genie will stay out of the bottle and travel the world or do whatever he wants. That way you can come visit me." We both smiled as Genie lost his tail and gained legs. He was still a genie, but a free one. He flew out the window off to visit Paris.

I searched in the Memory Chest for a new object that my project could be on. I dug out some stuff and found an old rug. It had golden tassels on it, was purple, and looked familiar. I pulled it gently because it was so old. Once it was out, it started too move. The rug scared me so much that I jumped back. It started to go ion the air. "Is it the wind?", I wondered. Suddenly I recognized it. "It's the flying carpet!", I yelled. I was so happy and I was jumping around throwing my arms in the air. I asked myself, "Does all this mean, that... Jasmine, is my relative?"
