How can you keep bored at bay during long hours of the night time security guards at an underground facility

It's a tough time for everyone. The gig economy has made it harder for me to make it through this new world. I had a great time at my previous job but I was fired from my dental assistant position. Then, I am required to work nights at the local machine manufacturing facility. It is mostly automated. Workers are on hand all day long and I am only part of the night-time crew. I have an emergency phone number I can contact should there be any issues or if the machinery suddenly stops working. After that, I call engineers or the outside line to find more engineers. I really don't do anything. There's no way they can make anything worth mentioning here. The night time guard is a glorified switchboard operator.

It's boring to sleep in the dark and explore new ways to help it go by faster. For instance, over the past 2 weeks, I've been working on a Tik Tok dance. It's not too difficult but it's a challenge to replicate the way it was done. This dance was taught by a young Tik Tok sister, which is why it's not easy. I don't know what to refer to this stuff as. I'm too old.


Recently, I've been trying different video tutorials for fixing cars. Although I don’t have a way to directly apply them to my car, it’s entertaining to see other people's automobiles become unstoppable. DIY videos are also instructive and easy to follow. But I had a second problem. My phone would eventually stop working and I was unable play any video or do other useful activities. I managed to download Youtube videos, save them to my phone and I was able watch YouTube videos at home without having internet access. It doesn't matter that you're watching it on the phone, whether you stream it on an online site or on the internet, or download video at home, and then play it back on your smartphone when there's no internet connection or wifi. It's simple to set up DVR for your online video and not just TV shows.

To my pure joy I've found out how to download fresh episodes and even movies directly to my laptop. I started bringing my laptop to work due to its larger screen and superior speakers, which makes it better to stream TV shows on there. I signed up recently for HULU. Then I've got Netflix. You can download the app, save it as downloading, then put it away. Within a couple of hours, based on the duration of the show and the quality option you choose, the video will be downloaded and accessible for you to view anytime, even without internet access. Although it's only 15 minutes long, I can still watch TV on the train to work.

There are many other types of educational or simply interesting materials I can pick up at home and bring along to work to make my time go by faster. Youtube's webinars regarding self-improvement techniques are an excellent resource. But, as I said, it can be difficult to watch a 1hr video and keep up with the information they're presenting. That's what I'm referring to... In these instances, I time try to get ready at home, and download YouTube video as mp4 file to my laptop, and then watch it at any time during work. No limitations on wifi, and there is no need for wifi The file is recorded on my laptop there is no risk of it going bad, spotty wifi doesn't matter as it's not a requirement in my situation.

Sometimes, I bring my son to work along with me. This is due to the fact that my wife works a night shift, making it challenging for us to be home with our child. Therefore, I take him with me and put him right by the computer screens I watch. He falls asleep within minutes. If he awakes I offer him my laptop and a few of the music videos that I have just downloaded. He's happy, and I'm happy to be able to do what I want on my phone. This is how we can collaborate more efficiently, while doing our individual things. He does seem to enjoy being with me. Maybe he's tired of staying up all the night.
