Halo 3 ODST - Different Perspective But Still Great Game Play
Halo 3 ODST, the prequel campaign between Halo 2 and Halo 3, offers users the unique opportunity to take on Covenant forces as a rookie Orbital Drop Shock Trooper rather than the head honcho Master Chief. Although the level architecture is largely similar to those of Halo 2, Halo 3's level of difficulty spikes dramatically due to the prominence of enemies now plaguing the UNSC world. Halo 3 ODST offers different perspective through the different missions of the campaign, as players may choose to play the campaign in skirmish, solo, or cooperative modes.

Halo 3 ODST mainly covers the events that preceded the first Halo game. In most cases, the player takes control of the Rookie, a member of Noble 6 Team. The campaign proper begins with the assault on Earth, an alien planet that is threatened by Covenant forces. Players begin the game as the Rookie, who is injured after making contact with Covenant forces. Players progress through the different missions, receiving upgrades to both their weapons and abilities to clear obstacles faced previously.

ODST introduces new weapons including the Plasma Pistol and Macro Rifle. Also, new weapons have been added to the weapons used in the Halo series proper. For example, the Macro Rifle is now the vehicle equivalent of the Lightsaber. Others weapons are also renamed relating to the different gameplay modes, such as the Plasma Pistol is now called a Plasma Shield and the Sticky Detonator is now called as the Blow Everything Down tactic.

Halo 3 ODST also incorporates owing tactics unique to each character. For example, the Legendary Alpine Ski is now called the Zebow, and players are able to ride theChanges into mountains on their backs to hijack enemy essences. Also, the new multiplayer game format allows teams to compete not only in objectives such as pushing a column to obtain an item, but also in their ability to personalities to act out adatible actions such as turret mounting, such as a DMR or SAW from behind.

ODST also features the appearance of long-time enemies and new mobs of creatures from Halo 3 itself. Thus, the player will face manyearls that are brand new in the Halo series, and all have their unique informs to defeat.

Part of the fun in playing ODST is its replayability value. The campaign mode allows gamers to unlock different maps to play through a second time through. Additionally, special editions of the game were released to coincide with certain happenings within the game, including the addition of achievements.
