Big pairs are not to be played slow. After studying thousands of hands involving big pairs (Queens / Kings / Aces) it has been proven that the best way to play the hand is aggressively. Playing aggressively pre-flop can lead to three outcomes: your opponents fold and win the hand, or your opponents call/raise. You have the best hand and your opponents call/raise. If you have Queens / Kings or Aces, your opponent has a much better chance of having a better card.
