In the beginning of each Texas Hold'Em Game after placing the small and big blind, every player gets the two private cards, the so-called pocket cards. The feature that makes a game a Rummy is a player matching identical cards into pairs and other groups. Experts believe Mahjong in China is part the Rummy family. But I think the Chinese would be just fine with Mahjong.
