Although I'm not aware of your roots or which era that was, I am one generation of X borderlineY. I was raised in rural areas that didn't have clubs. My first night out at a club was around 20. I don't have much to remember other than that I played various uppers and lowers. My friends said I had a wonderful time. I was just beginning to learn about club life, and it was like being baptized. And I got addicted. There was nothing wrong with this kind of life, it was the way things went that night.. Over the course of a couple of years, I moved from one club to another. Do you remember the song about "who's gonna give me an aftershow ride?" It was me. I left the club before it got dark to get into a car to drive on to someone's home, getting dressed for the night.

On some days we couldn't sleep at all, full of energy and vitality. We said farewell to the final BOO party the following night and headed out to Central Park to go for an outing.. I remember rubbing my forehead with antiperspirant for hours, sweating all day and covering my head in it.. Then, on a perfect summer day, they revealed their dark face to us.

The video of that night was saved for all time by my friends. It was removed to my delight.
