My kids and I travel with our kids. We can't always rely on Wi-Fi up the mountain so we have to make our own at home.

Yes, I said that.. My kids are terrible at thisthat they believe the that the WiFi at the at the top of the mountain is not that good.. It's not a big hill, but it is slightly over the typical wireless network, so my children need to search for an area that is better for better internet speed while me and my wife have set up a small camping site. We plan to stay here for at least a day. The tiny brook is right next to us and supplies water to our camp. It's true.. My children are getting back on their social networks, while I am taking in the views.. Although this hill is small, it's surrounded many bigger ones. To be close to mother nature we go here at least once during the blue moon. Although I enjoy these trips, it is not my goal to lead them. My wife insists that we do this. Perhaps she knows how much I enjoy being outdoors in the wild. My children are an entirely different story. Internet can sometimes go down. The interruption of streaming music may be due to something that is in the cloud, or even magnetic movement. It's annoying for me even although it happens frequently.

So, after a number of trips that were without internet, and when our normal internet was constantly dropping between a few and a couple of hours we determined to be prepared. We, i.e. my wife and me, had prepared for the event that our kids won't be connected to the internet for longer than 10 minutes. We created two sources of entertainment we could access at any time the internet isn't available when we go camping. One of them was a tablet that is packed with music videos and the current chart-topping songs. Our favorite Youtube mp3 convertor helped us to extract music from video and convert them into MP3 before downloading the songs to our tablet. It also works with playlists, so it was quite an easy process, despite sounding awful long.. Furthermore, most songs we had already stored on my laptop and it was just the matter of copying a few files. If you're feeling bored or down, someone could listen to music, view videos and the best part is that they can listen to music via blue tooth-connected headphones. It's great, isn't it? This device does not make any sound.

The second tablet was mostly animated TV shows, cartoons and movies we downloaded from Hulu as well as Netflix. These apps also offer offline storage, so you can stream them later. Although the quality may not be the greatest, it's adequate enough to include several seasons and cartoons, like Family Guy, Disenchantment, and Breaking Bad. It's a lot of fun. Also, it was easy. All you needed to do was download the applications and then enable downloading to watch offline. Once you have downloaded episodes you can mark them as ready for download, and you can forget about it. Tablet 2 was delivered a couple of days after tablet 1. When it arrived my kids were able to use it to watch TV shows. I also added a few DIY videos, such as building a tent and skinning fresh-caught salmon. These are the things that you won't perform at home. A few of these videos were taken from Youtube and converted into mp4 that I downloaded to my tablet. It's more convenient to have videos on your tablet at all times.

These two tricks have kept our kids entertained during four camping outings. They're not afraid of leaving the house anymore - they know tablet 2 will help them get through boring downtime and will return it home when they're prepared. I've never been more content, that's what I've ever wanted - to be with my family.
