Traveling with children is challenging. It's not possible to trust the internet to climb an mountain. I like to cook at the comfort of my home.

That's exactly what I said.. My children believe that the WiFi located at the top of the mountain only has weak signals. It's a small hill, but it is slightly over the typical mobile network's range, which means my children need to walk around to find an area that is better for more speedy internet while my wife and I are setting up a tiny campsite. We're planning to stay there for several days. The creek that runs nearby has fresh water. Yes.. My wife isn't able to camp without water. We have our own water almost all of the time.

My children are now back on social media while I admire the view. The hill isn't too large, but it's in the midst of more massive ones. To be closer to nature, we come here only once in a blue Moon. While I don't plan these excursions, I find them very enjoyable. My wife insists on doing it maybe because she understands how much I enjoy being out in the wild. But my children are completely different. Internet sometimes goes down. Your streaming music may be interrupted by something within the cloud, or by other magnetic movements for up to one minute before it is restored. This can be frustrating for me too, since it can cause me to listen to the entire incident occur.


After several trips during which there was no WiFi and normal internet on our phones would go between being in and out of service, we decided to prepare. My wife and I decided we would prepare for the time when our children won't have access to the internet for longer than 10 minutes. We developed two sources of entertainment that we could access at any time the internet isn't working on our camping trips. Another device was a tablet that contained music videos and the most popular songs on the charts. Our favorite Youtube mp3 tool helped us extract music and convert them into mp3 files before downloading onto the tablet. It also was able to work with playlists so it was quite fast, despite it sounding awful. For those who were feeling down or bored you could listen to music, watch videos and - best of all for us all! - listen to the sound through headphones that have blue tooth. It's an excellent idea, isn't it? No noise from that item..

The second tablet contained mostly cartoons and TV shows that were downloaded via Hulu, Netflix and other applications. This permits offline storage to save the videos to watch later. While the quality isn't top-notch however, it's still something. We have several seasons of Breaking Bad and lots of animated shows like Family Guy and Disenchantment. It was extremely enjoyable and easy to use. You just need to install the apps, allow downloading for offline viewing, download episodes and mark them as ready for download. The application will take care of everything. Tablet 2 was brought in 1 or 2 trips after tablet 1. However, when it finally did join our family in The Wild, there was no stopping my kids from using it and watching shows. There were a few DIY videos that I added, like building a tent, or the skinning of fresh fish. These are things you might not be able to do at home. These videos were sourced from Youtube. yt mp3 I converted them to MP4 and later downloaded them onto my tablet. It's much more convenient to have video on the tablet while you're working and can't bother waiting for video to stream right, you need it right there.. Download video to your tablet before time, and then don't waste any energy on this.

These two tricks keep my children entertained for four of our family camping trips. They aren't afraid to leave the house any more as they are aware that tablets 2 will help them get through boring downtime and then bring it back home when they're ready. I've never been happier. I enjoy spending time with my family.
