When going camping with your children, don't forget to bring laptop, tablet , and occasionally even your phone loaded with videos

It was something I learned the painful and difficult way. My mom is a constant cheerleader throughout the week and has encouraged me to plan and keep in mind this. I only told her my excitement about going on the first camping trip of my life with my children and grandkids. Then she came in talking and puffing out instructions and advice on every situation. I don't mind my mom's talking, but hearing her lecture. But listening to her makes me feel uncomfortable, so I tried to finish it faster than I should have. This was a big error that I realized the following day...or two.


We left with our car and set off to find the campsite. I was determined to recreate the rustic experience as my father, so I chose one remote spot that turned out be in a massive no-service zone. That means out smartphones were out of service and we were pretty much completely alone, with no other camper to be seen. I'm not disappointed, I was expecting a great camping trip..

What was the situation? There was no Internet, no bars, nothing. I took a laptop along with some online games. The bag was not even able to come out of my hands. I had created a backdrop for the trees so they could see the projector I had brought along with my laptop. I couldn't access Hulu or Netflix and it was impossible to bear their presence. They just wanted to get on top of their school work, check their emails, and send me texts. I got sick of it and put everything in the car for the return trip. My kids were sounding identical to pigs eating tasty food items after we left the WiFi-free area. Really... Do not be fooled I love my kids.. It was embarrassing. They groaned and moaned as their phones started to sound and announce the arrival of messages via text.

Since then, I've learned how to plan better and stay out of an area without internet access and no roaming. After an extremely long boat ride to our destination, I found myself in need of my new best buddies which included two tablets as well as a laptop. They were equipped with Hulu online video downloads on one side, Netflix movies, and shows on the opposite. The laptop had music videos as well in some movies I have downloaded to view later on Hulu as well as Netflix apps from the Windows app store. I have over 600 hours of material to watch which includes full episodes of South Park, Friends, Will & Grace and Friends seasons.

I have lots of videos that are funny for children. I downloaded some Youtube music videos and converted a few into mp3 format. I made use of this online application to download a few videos. It allows me to save the video on my laptop so that I can view it offline, if that I have power. www.youtubemp4.com I DVR a lot TV shows, movies and online lectures and so on. So, I save them in the format mp4 on my laptop. Then, I am able to play them with VLC/KMP , or other software that supports video files.

4k is another thing I insist on. Have you seen this? The video is so clear, it's incredible. I highly recommend it. There is great software in new TVs that support 4k image. It process the image and enhances it, then upscales it, and then upscales it. The old video is converted into smooth , modern video. Highly recommended for all age groups!
