Top tips and tricks to flying cheap with Spirit Airlines: A blog about flying on Spirit airlines.
1. Intro


Spirit Airlines is a low-cost airline based in Houston, Texas. Spirit Airlines has been offered in the United States since May 24, 2007.
As of August 19, 2017, Spirit Airlines has over 3,500 daily departures to 450 destinations across the United States, Canada and Mexico. In addition to the carrier's main hubs in Houston, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and San Francisco International Airport, Spirit operates two smaller operating bases at Wichita Falls Regional Airport in Texas and Las Vegas McCarran International Airport.
Spirit is headquartered in a converted Boeing 727 jetliner at its main hub. The headquarters building was formerly used by Southwest Airlines (founded as Republic Airways) and was slightly altered by the addition of a second floor to accommodate both companies' executives.

Spirit Airlines is an American low-cost airline headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It operates flights mainly to small cities in the United States, but also Europe and Asia.
It is the largest discount carrier in the United States and fourth largest in the world. The company provides low-cost service to North America, Europe and Asia, with its main hubs at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).
The company carried 1.4 million passengers for the first half of 2016 on 2,335 destinations in 118 countries.[2]


3. The $9 Fare Club


Spirit Airlines has been a major player in the airline industry for over a decade. They have established themselves as a carrier of choice, and have gained a large following from their many low-cost flights.
The Spirit Airlines $9 fare club is another way to save money when flying with Spirit Airlines. They operate domestic flights under the brand "Spirit", and offer discounted fares on select destinations.
It is important to know that while they are not technically an airline, Spirit Airlines are actually the "brand" of the parent company, American Eagle Airlines. American Eagle operates under the brand Spirit Airlines, but they are not affiliated with Spirit Airlines themselves.

4. A Few Other Things to Consider When Flying Spirit Airlines


Spirit Airlines is the airline of choice for people who are looking to save money on their next trip. They fly a lot of routes, and have a very nice fleet that can be flown by both economy and business class.
I’m going to share some tips with you to help you save money when flying Spirit Airlines. Here are a few tricks that I’ve learned over the years: Flying Spirit First Class
1) To get the most bang for your buck on flights with Spirit, book your first-class flight at least one month in advance. You will get more seat selection this way, and if you have kids, it is great for them as well.
2) During peak travel times (i.e., Christmas/New Year's), Spirit flies lots of low-cost flights so if you book early enough, then you will be able to get a good deal on those flights.
3) Booking your flight online via Spirit's website is easy enough. Just follow the steps above, and wait until online check-in opens at about 8:30AM Pacific Time (9AM Eastern Time). Once online check-in opens, click the "Travel Rewards" tab on the top right corner of the page and select "Travel Rewards Travel Plan". Then fill out Spirit airline reservations as per below:

5. Conclusion


Spirit Airlines is the world’s largest low-cost airline. It was founded in March 2004 by Richard Branson and other investors.
As of October 2018, it carried around 3 million passengers each year on more than 200 domestic and international routes (most of them within the US and Canada)
In December 2017, Spirit Airlines announced that it would launch a new route to the Chinese city of Hangzhou starting in March 2018 with multiple daily flights.
In January 2018, Spirit Airlines announced that it would start flying between Seoul-Incheon airport and Tokyo Narita airport starting in May 2018 for around $200 round trip. This route is operated using Boeing 737 aircraft, as opposed to its previous flight on Boeing 757 aircraft
In February 2018, Spirit Airlines announced that it will be introducing nonstop flights from Los Angeles to London Heathrow Airport starting in May 2018 for around $240 round trip on Airbus A321 aircraft. This is the first time a nonstop flight from Los Angeles will connect to London Heathrow via a jet service
On 15 February 2018, Spirit Airlines announced that it will be launching nonstop flights from Los Angeles to Seoul Incheon airport starting in July 2018 for around $260 round trip on Airbus A320 aircraft. This is the first time a nonstop flight between Los Angeles and Seoul Incheon via a jet service will connect via Korean Air
The airline has also started connecting Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport with New York LaGuardia Airport via Washington Dulles International Airport starting in July 2018 for around $225 round trip on Airbus A330 aircraft. This is the first time LAX has been connected to an international airport via an airline jet service since Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide merged with Texas-based Starwood hotels group back in 2014
On 20 February 2018, Spirit Airlines announced that they will launch nonstop flights from Los Angeles to Beijing Capital International Airport starting in August 2018 for around $250 round trip on Airbus A321 aircraft which are operated by Boeing 737 aircraft instead of its previous flight using Boeing 757 aircraft
This is the first time LAX will have been connected by an airline jet service since Allegiant Air launched its seasonal direct air travel between LAX and Las Vegas back in 2015. On 17 March 2018, Spirit airlines launched nonstop flights between Chicago O'Hare International Airport and Beijing Capital International Airport offering premium seats as low as $90 roundtrip as well as economy seats as low as $45 each departing at 10:00 am
