1. Sediakan minyak lavender dan ragi, minyak ini biasanya banyak dijual di toko-toko obat dalam bentuk cairan. Larutkan minyak ke dalam botol dengan diencerkan dengan air dengan takaran 10 persen. Lalu tambahkan ragi secukupnya, dan simpan di tempat yang banyak nyamuknya.
2. Siapkan minyak nimba dan merica bubuk, lalu tuangkan air hagat ke dalam wadah dan biarkan hingga dingin. Lalu tambahkan ragi, dan tutup bagian wadah dengan kertas dan beri lubang agar udara dari dalam botol keluar untuk mengusir nyamuk.
3. Tanam bunga teratai, karena bunga ini mampu membunuh larva nyamuk yang bertelur di sekitarnya.
4. Campurkan satu sendok makan kayu putih asli ke dalam setengah gelas air. Lalu semprotkan ke dalam ruangan yang sering terdapat banyak nyamuk.
Cara mengusir nyamuk cara sendiri:
1. Rumah harus dijaga kebersihannya. Jangan sampai kotor atau kumuh; yang dimana nyamuk senang tinggal disana.
2. Tanam tanaman penangkal nyamuk, seperti tanaman Zodia, tanaman Selasih, bunga Lavender, atau bunga Rosemary.
3. Pakai kawat kasa di jendela/pintu, mencegah nyamuk masuk dari luar.
