We have found 24-25 players is the best number to start your season out with. We mix and mingle until we have that number on every team we field. My personal teams usually lose 1 player before the season begins. They decide that football is not for their liking. As the season progresses, we often lose 1 player per week due to sickness, injury, grades, and so on. For practices and games, we typically have between 22-24 kids available. This number is perfect for me. 22 kids means that I have 11 on 11, during our football practice fit and freeze drills. If we have 22, we can run our football play against a scout defensive of 11 players.
