What is a Pro Forma Cap Table?

These forms will contain information on the outstanding shares of stock and will be used on a daily basis by investors who are interested in purchasing ownership in the Company. An investor will obtain information on the cost per share and the number of shares that have been issued for trading purposes. This information is important when determining if the value of the Company's shares is justified considering the current market price per share.

An exit plan will allow investors to identify the best course of action when the time comes to sell their shares of stock. In addition, investors should have a distribution plan in place. A distribution plan will help investors to determine what percentage of their investment funds will be distributed to the holders of their shares. Distributions are not only used to pay dividends; however, they can also be used to distribute capital gains and capital loss among shareholders.

An investment strategy is only useful if it is properly implemented. By properly implementing an exit plan and creating a pro forma cap table, investors will be able to increase their ownership stake in the Company.
