- Berasal dari bahasa Persia "Zarnig" dan bahasa Yunani "Arsenikon" yang berarti kuning
- Telah menjadi senjata pembunuh sejak 3000 SM
- 1786 -> Powler's Solution mengandung 1% Arsenik Trioksida (digunakan untuk obat leukimia)
- 1990 -> Arsenik digunakan untuk menyembuhkan penyakit ringan
- Arsenik Trioksida adalah senjata pembunuhan paling terkenal di Abad Pertengahan (Eropa abad 4-15) karena arsenik mudah didapatkan
- Keracunan arsenik dapat terjadi karena kecelakaan industri
- Arsenik murni berbentuk logan yang berwarna abu-abu
- Arsenik yang umum adalah Arsenic Trioxide (As2O3) berbentuk bubuk putih mirip gula
- Umumnya digunakan dengan cara dicampurkan ke makanan atau minuman karena tidak memiliki warna, bau, dan rasa
- Arsenik murni tidak beracun karena tidak larut dalam tubuh, serta memiliki kadar racun lebih rendah dan bisa diekskresi dengan cepat
- Gas Arsine adalah senyawa yang berasal dari Arsenik (As) dan hidrogen (H), terbentuk akinat logam arsenik yang terpapar oleh asam
- Arsine tidak berwarna dan tidak mudah terbakar, berbau seperti bawang/karbit
- Sering digunakan di ranah militer
- Arsine juga sering menyebabkan kematian karena kecelakaan kerja
