I saw it a lot this year on my own team. Guys who had some talent but felt they weren't getting a fair shot. They complained and bitched. But, when the coaches were putting special teams together, these guys hid. It doesn? click here if it was fear of special teams being below them. They blew it.
The Blindside (2009): This movie tells the story of Michael Oher. He went through many difficulties and obstacles to get to college, and eventually became a professional football star. The film opens with a 17 year old Michael Oher being welcomed by the Tuohy clan, who provide him with a place to call home. They quickly form a friendship and he is adopted by them. Sean Tuohy, Leigh Ann, and Sean Tuohy help him to get better grades and play on the school football team. Because of his size, he starts to attract attention from the top colleges in America and he decides to attend Ole Miss, the Tuohy alma mater. Sandra Bullock received a Best Actress Award. Quinton and Sean Tuohy are also featured in the film.

Find your passion early if you can. This may not help you land a scholarship, but it can help you make sure that the school you choose will set you up for a successful post-football transition.
There are national and regional camps out there that can give you some great exposure. Some of the top notch camps have tons of coaches from big time programs watching (and sometimes coaching) the drills that high school players are put through.
