Youtube continues to show ads to my child while watching videos of baby sharks and other similar channels.

This is the question I've been asking for over the last two months, since I started gifting my daughter a tablet with all the Youtube channels specially made for babies. Supposedly they all assist babies in their development, enhance cognitive functions and other ones as they progress both mentally and socially. My child is clearly enjoying the content. She's always watching it with sparkling eyes and giggles waiting to fly off her lips. I don't understand the commercials. My child doesn't consume products, so why do you insist to show my baby ads on Youtube at times but not babies?


First off, babies do not comprehend commercials. It's both a loss in money as well as resources. These aren't even infants! It's not possible to claim that they can comprehend therefore why insist on showing them these advertisements? If the ads are being played to fathers and mothers, or perhaps other baby-care providers are they doing it so that they will benefit? It's a bit confusing and can be annoying.

Same is with the cat videos.. They are so fascinating that my cat has taken to them. My cat is glued to the videos for hours regardless of whether it's birds or mice. Hunting is what I think. Those videos are constantly interrupted by ads. Who are they trying to convince? My cat doesn't watch these videos. She doesn't even care about advertisements. They might think that I'm watching the videos with my cat. While they might be partially accurate, I've noticed that I am watching these videos for cats together more often than I do anything useful.

So I found a great solution that I have been using lately. It's as easy as downloading Youtube videos to my computer or my daughter's tablet and then playing them from there. You get the idea. This site gives me to store the video on my computer, and not be downloaded to Youtube every time my cat wants to watch birds. Then I double-click this MP4 file from my computer. VLC plays it instantly and there aren't any commercials.

Same process is with all those videos for babies and channels. My daughter loves to watch videos on Youtube. I save them to my desktop, and then copy them onto her tablet. Even though it may be just a few songs, I will do it on her tablet. It's much easier to use this website on my desktop computer and then transfer the files into the location you want. Perhaps it is me, an old school...

It was a fantastic way to save mobile data. Before downloading videos from Youtube was possible, I had to ensure that my phone was connected to the internet using a hotspot or an additional data plan. Sometimes, we even utilized a specific data plan to save data on our tablet.
