Value Betting - Get The Most Out Of Your Poker Hands
Contrary to popular belief, poker is more of a sport, rather than a game. It is indeed more than just gambling. Anybody can play poker, but to be really good at it, you need a lot of patience, skill, and determination. As they say, it takes a few minutes to learn to play poker, but it takes a lifetime to be really good at it.

If you have taken down a few pots without showdowns recently, some opponents will spite-call you. They'll get angry and call because they are sick and tired of you c-betting. Sometimes they'll even mention it in the chat box. It can be tempting to bet just to irritate them even further but that's useless. They are already upset and probably playing poorly. The mistake most people make is they think they have to make the decision on what to bet then and there, when they are in the game. This can't be more further from the truth. You can completely plan out your whole strategy before you even sit down at the table. I'm sure you are realizing now that if you took the time to plan what you will do if you have X cards and an opponent bets Y, you will surely be ahead in the game.

To encourage him to keep playing in this manner, you may actually want to go the full hog and congratulate him on the way that he played the hand (with your tongue firmly in your cheek of course!) and tell him that you had no idea he was holding such a monster.
