Round 2: Following the first round, three cards are placed face up on the table (the "flop") which may be utilized in each players hand. At this point, another betting round occurs, beginning with the player directly clockwise of the dealer (the small blind).

The flop comes next in the game. The dealer begins by burning one card. This means he deals it to the discard pile. He then places three cards face-up at the table. These three cards are the flop.

The dealer will not place another card face down on the table and will then deal out one card face up. This is known as the turn. There are now four community cards on each side. Each player can use any one of these cards along with the two cards they have to make their five-card poker hand.

Pre-flop betting begins. That is, before the flop (or the first three community hands are turned over), the small blind and the big blind are posted. The player to the left puts up the little blind and the player to their left posts the bigblind. The big blind is twice the amount of the small blind. When you play limit hold'em (limit hold'em), the big blind is equal or half the limit. The small blind is the other half. So, if the limit is $10/20 the big blind would be $10 and small blind $5.

This amount you can raise is depicted by the type of game and limit you are playing at. The action will continue on until no one raises the stakes. The dealer then reclaims all bets, and the hands are folded.
