How to keep up with the music of your country of origin even if you've lived in the country for the last 10+ years

However, my family. While I was growing up in Russia, young adults didn’t have money. We had to find other ways to make money. 2converter There are a variety of schemes, the majority of which are similar to alcoholics asking for money from their neighbors to buy their communal vodka bottle. Similar to the previous example we were always looking for ways to make quick cash to even purchase bread. We were always hungry.

So, I finally arrived in America. There's nothing like New York City, Brooklyn, Brighton Beach. This is a place that reminds me of home. It's noisy and dirty, it smells like Russia, and the people there are rude. There is a lot to do, such as visiting Russian music stores and bookstores.

I love music and reading books. But as it happens recently it's easy to locate Russian literature on Kindle. Therefore, I have stopped buying books in hard copy. My wife, who's almost an avid collector isn't able to fit much in her home, so I try to avoid buying unnecessary things. Although the books I had stacked up looked interesting for the first few months however, they began to look dull and boring when I realized there was space for other things.

Music, however, is different. My job requires lots of driving, which is why I listen to tons of music. Being an Russian immigrant, it's hard for me to enjoy the music I find in America. I'm not a huge fan of hip-hop, rap or metal, rock, or pop. Also, all the modern stuff that kids like to dance to.. Old Russian music is a thing I cherish along with the Russian-specific songs that were played in jail. They're still extremely well-known even though I've been gone for twenty years. They put everything on Youtube nowadays. YouTube is my most favorite music website. I use it every day regardless of whether I am at home or working.

I have a great playlist that includes 300 songs I enjoy. Since there are more than 300 songs, it's easy to become accustomed to the music. If I want to listen to them in the car but I don't have sufficient internet. It’s essential for navigation, driving, and for my own personal enjoyment. I prepare the playlist at home. I'm on the top of the list. Then I record a few songs on Youtube to MP3 files. Next I burn the MP3s onto my computer and bring the CD into my car. The website can print a Youtube playlist, then convert each song to MP3 and save it on my personal computer. It's then easy to convert it into an audio CD. Sometimes, I just make data discs but they won't play in the car stereo. It's amazing how technology works when audio is recorded. It doesn't require an internet connection in order to play MP3; I simply insert CD into my car stereo, and music from Russia is blasting in Manhattan as I drive through.


It is easy and inexpensive to download videos from Youtube and then convert them into mp3 so you can download them to your smartphone. A friend of mine connected his smartphone to his car stereo , and the phone started playing high quality sound in just a couple of seconds. The phone also streamed Spotify and Pandora radio. This doesn't require a lot of internet bandwidth. It's something I'm likely try the next time. However, I will only use free wifi.
