Learning About Social Activism
Social activism is an over-all collective effort by people to bring about social change. If you are actively working towards such a change and feel strongly about it, then you may well be regarded as a social Activist. An active activist is someone who is actively working towards social change within society. There are many forms of social activism that can be loosely related, though they are all part of the same movement. Some examples include political activism, social protest, social movements and civil disobedience.

One type of social activism is social media activism. This type of social activism generally seeks to influence and change public opinion through social media platforms such as the internet, message boards, blogs and social networking sites. This type of social media activism has gained popularity recently, though it had been around since the start of the internet. Some of the early activists were largely advocates of animal rights, and their efforts had some success in the early years.

A major offshoot of social media activism is what is sometimes called "Day of Resistance". This type of social activism arises when a group of people gather together on a specific day to protest or demonstrate against an ongoing issue or something that is perceived to be unfair. The primary weapon at their disposal are social media tools such as websites, blogs, Facebook and Twitter. Sometimes these social media tools are used as weapons, with the aim of disrupting or toppling a government or ruling party. Sometimes peaceful protesters get into altercations with pro-government rioters. agency seems that sometimes the best way to protest is to simply remain in one place and observe rather than engaging in physical violence.

A related form of social activism is called human rights activism. This type of social activism seeks to protect human rights, including freedoms of speech and expression, religious tolerance, freedom of movement and private property. Activists on all sides believe that these rights are vital for a free and democratic society, and work very hard to promote them. Social human rights activists differ from environmental activists in that regard, although both groups work very hard to protect the environment. A common feature of both types of activism is the call for social change. They believe that society can only benefit from social change if large numbers of citizens to become active and participate in political processes.

A third popular form of social activism is political action. It often takes the form of voter registration and other forms of voting, as well as political agitation and peaceful demonstrations. There is also a subcategory of social activism that goes by the name of eco-activism, which seeks to promote conservation of ecosystems and environmental quality of life. Many environmentalists are prominent members of political opposition groups.

Some would argue that the most important trend in contemporary society is corporate social change. Corporate social action is the driving force behind many environmental issues. Companies are often the driving force behind some of the more radical causes that advocate against big business, such as genetically modified foods or stricter fuel regulations. Activists who support these causes may engage in acts of vandalism or civil disobedience to bring about changes in the larger society or in the corporation.

While there is debate about the definition and meaning of social action or social activism, it is clear that many social activists share some common goals, including promoting social justice, economic equality, protection of human rights and environmental protection. A true social activist is concerned with social change, and his/her efforts are often focused on making positive changes in the world around them. A true social activist will work to improve the conditions of the world's poor and work to ensure that everyone has access to health care and has equal rights.

The term "social action" itself can cause controversy. The use of the term "social" to describe an action may be perceived as negative by those who do not engage in certain types of social activism. However, the concept of social action has been widely accepted among a diverse audience of people from all walks of life. Social activists may choose to use the term "social activism" to describe their efforts or any type of social activism that they choose. Regardless, of whether you choose to use the term "social activism" or another term, realize that social action is a crucial component to fighting for social change and ensuring that all people have an equal opportunity to achieve meaningful change.
