Chinese Gambling Games
FAN-TAN also known as Fan Shi and Fan Tuo is among the many names that Chinese refer to the most well-known card game - solitaire. It was created in southern China. It was created by a couple of card players, who were courtiers of the Ming Dynasty. Their court kept them busy for over a century playing and bluffing their opponents. FAN-TAN is a combination of three types of cards: Tiger, Deer, and Crane. At the time, the game was known as tongsi and involved five-card draw and seven-card poker. It was played at three tables. The players were given five-card draw and seven-card draw hands. The game was won by the player with the most winning hand after the first two rounds of betting.
