Is Big Wheel Ride Toys Right to Your Child?
Your child's first big bike...the one they are currently riding on their own. It could be their first time riding one. It doesn't really matter what it is, it is just like a first ride with an adult. So what exactly should you look for in your child's Big Wheel to make sure it is the best experience possible?

Audio: Does the Big Wheel setup include audio? Clear audio is essential for your child's riding experience. They need to be able to hear all the details and hear everyone around them. You don't want your child to go on a ride with no understanding of what the voices are saying. It should be included in the set-up!

Video: Does the Big Wheel setup come with a video? Many stores include a short video with the purchase of the toy. It is a good idea that you have a video of the product you are purchasing. This is especially important if you are buying the Big Wheel with another toy. Check out the video!

Sensors: Are sensors included in the Big Wheel setup? Sensors: While they are not necessary, sensors can be used to monitor your child's riding. They will be capable of slowing down when they hit something, hopefully not a tree. If they lose control of their toy, they will also be able stop. Some models come with extra sensors, but they aren't as common.

Sound: Does the Big Wheel include a sound effect recording? This is a great addition to many toys. It does add to the fun, but it can also serve as a distraction for your child. I don't advocate buying one with a siren, or sound effects recording. But you shouldn't buy one without them. Children love to have fun but need to be able to set boundaries.

Props: Does your Big Wheel come with a set of riding pads or horns that you can attach to your child’s handlebars? Most do, however, some don't. It's always a good idea to make sure the toy has what you need. If you don't, you might find yourself constantly scratching and cutting your child's face. You can find riding pads in your local department store or toy retailer, but expect to spend a lot for sound effects. Horns and sound effects are also available.

Storage: Will the Big Wheel come equipped with storage trays to store your items? Most likely not. However, it is a good idea that the toy has enough space to hold at least one ride-on toy. Children get carried away and forget to put their toys away while playing with them. Having some extra room will alleviate that problem!

Once you have all the information you need, you are ready to go! That's why it's so important to start slow. Learn how to ride a big wheel with your child and then take them on more challenging rides once they are bigger. Your child will love riding, it's such a rewarding experience for them.

Keep safety in mind as well. The handlebars can be rough, so you'll want to take special care if your child is younger and doesn't yet hold a riding license. You may also need to ensure your child wears a safety helmet, as they may not be skilled in controlling the vehicle. It may seem obvious but it's a necessity! The helmet will protect you and your child from head injuries.

Have fun. Remember, this is supposed be a relaxing experience, not a worrying one. Plan lots of great rides for your child, and don't let anything distract you from that goal. You don't need to rush through the first few lessons. Everything will fall into place if you just have fun.

There are many riding toys for children that you can choose from. Go with your child and make riding fun again. You'll both be glad you did! Your child will be so grateful! Big Wheel is a great adventure for you and your child.
