NFL Betting_ Packers on Defense
The 2012 NFL Season opening is just around the corner, each division has its own powerhouse team. Rising above all at the NFC north division is the Green Bay Packer. The Packers are the favourite among all the division teams, having won 13 World titles. NFL betting analyst predicts that in this season they are gunning for their 14th.

The players at training camp are doing everything and even rookies are trying their best to impress the coaches. As the players are going hard on their training, Offensive and Defensive coaches are at the tables doing their playbooks. In this pace of the camp Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy addressed members of the media in the Don Hutson Center that he is still adamant that these current line-up can stand up to the challenge.

Take a glimpse of some adjustment made. On defense, LB Clay Matthews spoke to reporters after Saturday's practice for the first time in training camp, and when asked whether the Packers' defense would improve in 2012, he basically said the Dom Capers-coordinated unit has no choice. He tackled Marshall Newhouse at least twice in team drills. The Packers were emphasizing their blitz during that period, which gave Matthews a bit of an advantage, but he made quick work of Newhouse in many times.


On the offensive side, second-year tight end D.J. Williams is standing out as a quick pass-catcher in the early part of camp, but that was also the case last year before he faded as many rookies do. Williams is pushing hard to take the role of secondary pass-catcher tight end, alongside Jermichael Finnley.

As for the rookie Casey Hayward, he showed that he is legitimate. We don't yet know what kind of tackler he is or if he can handle the nuances of coverage adjustments, but he clearly knows how to play a receiver 1-on-1. He was able to keep tight coverage on Tori Gurley's receiver and he deftly reached out to tip a pass away. Hayward stands at 5-foot-11, while Gurley stands at 6-foot-4.

The 13 World Champion will set the tone for defense at the beginning of the season. The Packers Coach emphasized the Packers' blitz and promised tight defense. In NFL betting, can the defense win over offense?
