What Are An Activist And Why Do Asian Americans Have It?
What is an Activist? For centuries we have been fighting for our freedoms, rights and liberty. There are many different types of activists from the tights who are trying to keep the women in the middle class. There are trade unionists who fight for better working conditions for all the workers, farmers, vets and other groups.

What is an Activist? One type of activism that has been around for many years is Teju Adisa-Farrar. Teju is a Filipino who lives and works in the United States as an actor, model and political activist. He is also involved in various other political, social, economic and environmental causes and activities. He was arrested while participating in a sit-in on Wall Street. His case became very public because of the way the police treated him during his arrest and his decision to go public with the events that happened to him.

What is an Activist? Activists are normally people who are marginalised in society. They are the voiceless, the poor, the powerless and sometimes even the abused. Activism is the voice of these people who are struggling to be heard, to make a difference and to be seen.

What is an Activist? An activist is someone who cares about what is right for society, even if they may not get a chance to express their opinions in public. They are tireless workers to put into the streets to make a difference for the greater good. The work of many activists makes their homes in front of the television or computer screen.

What is sku ? Because they care deeply about what is right for society, many activists choose to use creative protest methods that make their voices heard. Tactics such as sit-ins, marches, silent auctions, tongue piercings and other unique forms of protest are chosen by some people because they are effective and they make the people hear them. It is also important to note that many activists are religious. Religious belief plays a big part in why some individuals choose to practice their religion in an activism form.

What is an Activist? As mentioned above, there are different types of activism. Some are reformist, some are communistic, while others follow the path of civil disobedience. One thing that all environmentalists do is fight for social change. Those who choose this path are known as eco-activists.

What is an Activist? It is important that we, as humans, understand what it means to be an activist. We often take for granted that all of our elected leaders are honest and truthful and do what is best for us in the long run. Sometimes, we expect too much of our elected officials. Activists are people who use any means necessary to bring about change in the system or to bring awareness to certain issues. For example, environmentalists may choose to stage a sit-in, hijack a plane, or start a hunger strike in order to bring awareness to issues such as genetically modified foods.

What is an Activist? We, as humans, are surrounded by what I would call marginalised identities. These are identities that are not seen as valid as the way that people see themselves or the world. Being an activist means that you choose to bring awareness to those who need to be informed and to those who need to see change for what it is so that they can experience it themselves.

What is an Activist? Activism is not always about civil disobedience. In fact, some activists fall under the classification of "Reform Judaism" because of their strong support of Israel and their strong support of the liberal/left movements within Israel and the U.S. as well. Other activists fall under the classification of being "Oriental Activists" because of the belief that the U.S. immigration policies are unfair. There are many more subcategories of what is an Activist but what I hope to show here is that being an Asian American Activist fits under a new word... Social Justice Warrior.

What is an Asian American Activist? Social Justice Warrior identifies an individual who believes deeply in social change and who uses tactics to bring about change, usually through peaceful civil disobedience. Many Asian American Activists break away from the traditional labels of being an Asian Activist and instead choose to be called a Social Justice Warrior.

Today, many younger Asian Americans break away from the activism of the past and seek to promote social change using non-violent methods. Some notable American Activists include ACT UP, Asian Americans Advocate, Breakthrough Congress, boycott, divestiture and Sanction (BDS). These are only a few of the many names used to identify contemporary Asian American Activists. Many younger activists learned about these types of activities from watching US politics on TV. They also learned about it from other activists such as organizers, professors, poets and lawyers.
