Raleigh's north side is home to a deadly zebra cobra found on a glue trap.
Following many hours of consultation and preparation by officers from Raleigh police and animal control, a glue trap was ultimately deployed to capture a venomous zebra cobra on a north Raleigh porch on Wednesday, capping a 48-hour case involving North Carolina media.
It was taken to a safer location to be fully cleaned after it was guided into the bucket and guided out.
A striped snake was spotted earlier in the day crawling out of the siding of a house on Sandringham Drive, onto the front porch of a house. Lifting its head, its hood could be seen.
When officers confirmed it was the snake, they walked back from the camera crew before moving in to try and capture it.
Searches were launched early Tuesday after the same home made a 911 call.

N.C., Raleigh Despite hours of consultation and preparation of law enforcement and animal control officers, a venomous zebra cobra was captured with a glue trap on a north Raleigh porch Wednesday night, capping an unusual 48-hour saga that garnered national attention.
A red bucket was used to guide the cobra into a safe location so that the glue could be removed from its body completely.
An earlier image captured by WRAL show the snake scrabbling to the front porch of a house on Sandringham Drive, crawling through the siding. While raising its head to take a look around, its hood was visible.
After confirming the snake was the one they were trying to capture, Animal Control officers moved the camera crews back.
911 call from that same home sparked the search in the early morning Tuesday.

Joan Nelson expressed relief that the ordeal is over.
She says she feels safe and happy now. Having gone outside, I feel as though I can now go on my deck and walk around. It's very sad for the snake, though.

The snake, a zebra cobra, is extremely fast and can spit up to nine feet away, making a walk with the dog even scarier. The African Snakebite Institute states that the snake is very dangerous. Venom can cause the nervous system to shut down in victims.
A person hit by the poison would experience pain, swelling, irritation, vomiting, and diarrhea. A high fever and breathing difficulties would follow, which could lead to respiratory failure.
Dr. Salina Locke, a veterinarian at Avian and Exotic Animal Care, treats all kinds of animals.
The cobras in this species are not typically biting. The venom sprays more readily, since it is so accurate. they aim right for the eyes, she said.
According to Locke, this snake is not suitable for keeping as a pet.
In most cases, bites occur when people are sleeping. A bit could cause health issues for years, research shows.
It was Tuesday afternoon when police conducted a search of 6917 Chamonix Place, near the street where the snake was last seen.
Four officers were dispatched to that home for an animal issue in March. The zebra cobra was spotted on a porch a half mile away on Monday and Tuesday.
There are records in the county indicating Keith and Rebecca Gifford live at that address. There is a Facebook account for Keith Gifford that shows several photos of snakes that he claims are owned by his son, Christopher.
His TikTok account has more than 460000 followers. In one of his posts, he claims to have a 7-foot-long zebra cobra.
