One drop of blood.
Starting with the left ventricle, it has oxygen rich blood and the wall of it is thicker to allow more muscular stroke. The drop of blood as it leaves left ventricle. From left ventricle, end up going into systemic circulation. When ventricle contracts in the bottom, we squeeze blood up and out(like toothpaste). We want to make sure it doesn’t trickle back, (if it does there’ll be a problem like a heart murmur). This is where one of the valves comes into play that is located sort of where the left ventricle meets the big blood vessel that will carry blood out into systemic circulation and that is the aorta. Comes up and around and loops around. The valve is at the back so if the blood wanted to trickle, it cannot. (if ur pumping th eheart, this opens up and blood can through from the left ventirlce to blood vessel when there’es enough pressure. However if blood trickled backwards, it’ll hit one way valve and the valves can only open one diorection and if it did trickle back, it’ll be stuck. And won’t be able to go backwards.) form the aorta, we go out into systemic circulation(the big loops that supplies the entire body). AND then, when we return to the heart, we’ll return to the vena cava and there are two of these one from the top and one bottom. It collectively puts them as return of systemic blood to the right side of the heart. This means that both of those will dump into the right atrium. (remember: this is oxygen poor blood because we pumped it everywhere and used up so we’re bringing back to the heart). Then we come to another valve, this is one of the AV valves (this means thatthis valve is between atria and ventricles). As blood pools into atrium, that’ll build up pressure and when there’s enough blood, the valve will open so that you can move blood into the ventricles <- that’s the right AV valve. From there, blood goes into right ventricle and from right ventricle, it gets pumped so that it goes into pulmonary circulation(remember: leaving heart we have pulmonary artery and there’s actually one on either side left and right.l those pulmonary arteries aare carrying oxygen poor blood to the lungs) at the lungs, we have oxygen exchange and get blood oxygenated and returns to the heart via the pulmonary veins. In this case, the veins are oxygen rich. There are some on both eft and right side of the heart. Form those veins, we then pool again into left atrium(same thing will be true: as blood pools into atrium, valves will get forced open and it’ll initially start to trickle into ventircles and atria will contract and push rest through. At this point, the valve opens – which is the left atrial ventricular valve. That’s going to force blood between left atria and ventricle.
There’s two semilunar valve. As we’re pumping out of let ventricle and going into aorta, that’s one of the the semilunar valve – the aortic semilunar valve. There’s also another when you pump out the right side of theheart so before you get to pulmonary arteries there’s another valve so that blood cannot go backwards.
