The venomous zebra cobra found in north Raleigh is trapped by a glue trap.
Despite the consultation and preparation by animal control officers, law enforcement and animal control officers trapped the venomous snake on a north Raleigh porch Wednesday night, capping a 48-hour case involving North Carolina media.
The cobra was guided into a red bucket and taken to a safe location so that the glue could be removed completely.
The snake was seen crawling onto a porch of a house on Sandringham Drive earlier in the day. In looking around, the hood of the vulture was visible.
The Wildlife Control officers moved camera crews back after confirming that this is the snake, then went in to attempt to capture it.
This same residence had called 911 early Tuesday, sparking the search.

When officers confirmed it was the snake, they walked back from the camera crew before moving in to try and capture it.

The ordeal is over at last, said neighbor Joan Nelson.
It makes me really happy and I feel much more secure, she said. Having gone outside, I feel as though I can now go on my deck and walk around. Despite that, I feel terrible for the snake.

Having a snake that can spit up to nine feet long can make even a morning dog walk a frightening experience. The African Snakebite Institute reports that this snake is very dangerous. A victim's nervous system could shut down if stung with venom.
An individual hit by the snake's poison would feel immediate pain, swelling, irritation, vomiting, and diarrhea. In addition to a heavy fever and breathing problems, respiratory failure could also result.
The Avian and Exotic Animal Care is run by veterinarian Salina Locke, who treats all types of pets.
Cobras typically do not bite. They spray their venom more often -- they're very accurate, she said.
She is not recommending it for pets, due to its risks.
During sleep, most bites occur. Research shows that people who are bit may suffer health issues for years.
There was a police search of 6917 Chamonix Place Tuesday afternoon, near the street where the last sighting of the cobra was reported.
In March, police visited the home four times because of an animal problem. The zebra cobra was spotted on a porch a half mile away on Monday and Tuesday.
There are records in the county that indicate Keith and Rebecca Gifford reside at that address. His Facebook account shows several pictures of snakes he claims are owned by his son, Christopher, according to the account.
On TikTok, Christopher Gifford has over 460000 followers. On one of his posts, he claims to own a 7-foot zebra cobra.
