Nad may be effective in improving the fertility of older women.

The researchers compared the ovaries of 16 month old women with those of 2 month old young women and found that the number of mature follicles in elderly women decreased and the morphology of oocytes was incomplete. This series of changes eventually led to the decline of fertility in elderly mice. In this regard, after summing up experience, the research group put forward the idea of "supplementing nad to improve oocyte quality".
After that, the researchers treated elderly women with nad for 10 days. The number of ovulation in elderly women increased and the morphology of oocytes returned to normal. On the other hand, in vitro fertilization experiments showed that the binding ability between oocytes and sperm was improved after nad supplementation. These phenomena mean that the fertility of aged mice is improved and the probability of pregnancy is higher.
