Neum je grad u Bosni i Hercegovini.
Nalazi se na Jadranskom moru, i jedini je
izlaz BiH na Jadransko more, u dužini od 21,2 km.
Grad zauzima površinu od 225 km².
Klima u Neumu je mediteranska, sa dugim i vrućim ljetima
i kratkim blagim zimama. Srednja godišnja temperatura je 16 °C.
Neum spada u najtoplije gradove BiH, uz Trebinje i Mostar.
Neuma se oduvek bavilo poljoprivredom, ribarstvom i ekstenzivnim
stočarstvom dok su, kao dodatni izvor prihoda, ubirali ljekovito i
začinsko bilje: kadulju, ruzmarin i vrijesak
i bavili se vađenjem morske soli.
Godine 1399. Dubrovačka republika je kupila Neum od bosanske vlastele i upravljala je njime 300 godina. Dubrovačka republika je 1699. prepustila kontrolu regiona Klek-Neum Osmanskom carstvu, prema odredbama Karlovačkog mira, nakon Velikog bečkog rata. Ovaj pojas je dao turskoj vojsci pristup moru, ali još bitnije, Dubrovniku je pružio zaštitu od Mletačke republike. Neum je bio pod turskom vlašću sve do 1878. kada je BiH došla pod austrougarsku upravu.
