The venomous zebra cobra found in north Raleigh is trapped by a glue trap.
Despite the consultation and preparation by animal control officers, a venomous zebra cobra was caught with a glue trap on a north Raleigh porch on Wednesday, capping a 48-hour case involving North Carolina media.
The glue was removed from the cobra's body by putting it in a red bucket and transporting it to a safe location.
A striped snake was captured by WRAL cameras crawling onto a front porch on Sandringham Drive earlier in the day. A hood was visible wherever it turned its head.
Camera crews were moved back after the officers confirmed it was the snake before attempting to catch it.
911 call from that same house sparked the search at the beginning of Tuesday.

Glue was removed from the cobra's body by placing it in a red bucket and moving it to a safe location.
The snake was seen crawling onto a porch of a house on Sandringham Drive earlier in the day. In looking around, the hood of the vulture was visible.

Before moving in to capture the snake, Animal Control officers moved camera crews to the back.

Joan Nelson said she was relieved the ordeal was over.
It makes me really happy and I feel much more secure, she said. It feels good to be outside now, even walking on my deck. Nevertheless, I feel somewhat sorry for the snake.
One zebra cobra has gone missing from a north Raleigh neighborhood where there is a striped snake on a porch.
The snake, a zebra cobra, is extremely fast and can spit up to nine feet away, making a walk with the dog even scarier. It is a very dangerous snake according to the African Snakebite Institute. Venom can cause the nervous system to shut down in victims.
Those stung by the poison would experience severe pain, swelling, rashes, nausea, and diarrhea as a result. It would then lead to a high fever and breathing problems, which could cause respiratory failure.
At Avian and Exotic Animal Care, veterinarian Salina Locke treats all kinds of pets.
The species of cobras that are found in this area do not bite. Venom is more likely to be sprayed by them, she said; they are very accurate and aim straight for the eyes.
The snake is not recommended as a pet by Locke due to its risk.
Bite incidents are most common during sleep. The effects of being bitten may last for years, according to research.
Tuesday afternoon, police searched a home at 6917 Chamonix Place, near the last location where the cobra was spotted.
In March, police visited the home four times because of an animal problem. Approximately half a mile away, they spotted the zebra cobra on a porch, prompting them to return on Monday and Tuesday.
The county records show that Keith and Rebecca Gifford live at that address. His Facebook account shows several pictures of snakes he claims are owned by his son, Christopher, according to the account.
Christopher Gifford has 460000 followers on TikTok. According to one of his posts, he claims to have a 7-foot zebra cobra.
