The venomous zebra cobra found in north Raleigh is trapped by a glue trap.
Despite the consultation and preparation by animal control officers, in the end a glue trap captured a venomous zebra cobra on a north Raleigh porch, ending an eventful 48-hour period that attracted attention throughout North Carolina.
To remove the glue fully from its body, the cobra was guided into a red bucket and moved to a safe location.
An earlier image captured by WRAL show the snake scrabbling to the front porch of a house on Sandringham Drive, crawling through the siding. A hood was visible wherever it turned its head.
When officers confirmed it was the snake, they walked back from the camera crew before moving in to try and capture it.
Searches were launched early Tuesday after the same home made a 911 call.

It was a relief to neighbor Joan Nelson to have the ordeal over.
I feel much safer and I am really happy, she said. Getting outside on my deck or stepping out on my deck gives me a sense of freedom. Despite that, I feel terrible for the snake.
A zebra cobra has been missing from a north Raleigh neighborhood where this stunted snake is seen.
The snake, a zebra cobra, can spit up to 9 feet and is faster than most snakes, making even a morning walk with the dog scary. The African Snakebite Institute states that the snake is very dangerous. A victim's nervous system could shut down if stung with venom.
One who is poisoned by the cobra would immediately feel pain, swelling, irritation, vomiting, and diarrhea. In addition to a heavy fever and breathing problems, respiratory failure could also result.
Avian and Exotic Animal Care is owned and operated by veterinarian Salina Locke.
The cobra in this species usually does not bite. The venom from them, she said, is typically sprayed. She said they are extremely accurate and shoot straight for the eyes.
She is not recommending it for pets, due to its risks.
In most cases, bites occur when people are sleeping. A study shows that those who are bitten may suffer long-term health issues.
It was Tuesday afternoon when police conducted a search of 6917 Chamonix Place, near the street where the snake was last seen.
There was an animal issue at that home in March. In the afternoon, the zebra cobra was spotted on a porch half a mile away.
There are county records showing that Keith and Rebecca Gifford live at that address. According to a Facebook account linked to Keith Gifford's name, he has several photos of snakes he claims to own with his son, Christopher.
Christopher Gifford has more than 460000 followers on TikTok. According to one of his posts, he claims to have a 7-foot zebra cobra.
