Tui Na Massage Therapy - Is Tui Na The Right Choice for You?
A small mountain town called Tui Na is located in the People's Republic of China's Shaolin province. It is a small town and has only a handful of buildings. It appears more like an old logging village. Tui Na has always been a peaceful, relaxing place for me. The reason for my warm feeling was due to the fact that I was able to study Tai Na from a master that lived there and practiced it every day.

I learned about tui na from a master called Wang Xian, who also was a home practitioner. His library was filled with books on the practice, and he gave them to me so that I could browse through the texts. I discovered that there are many schools of thought regarding the study of the tui-na. I learned that seven meridians are connected, and that the body is connected to these meridians.

Through reading many of the books I read, I came to know that the seven meridians have names like Chi, Qi, Blood bones, teeth joints and Materia. Through my research I came to learn that Na practitioners utilize different massage strokes for each of the seven meridians. I also discovered that traditional Chinese medical practice believes there are about twenty-four crucial points on the body which are connected to each other and are responsible for the body's organs as well as tissues. Each of the organs and tissues is believed be connected to a specific point. The twelve meridians are believed to be parallel to Chi in the body. This is why certain practitioners utilize the symbol of the twelve meridians while doing a Tui Na massage.

When the Chinese government and United States started promoting Tui Na as a treatment method, Tui Na became very well-known throughout the West. Television shows featuring Chinese herbalists promoted the practice as an alternative treatment. The popularity of Tui Na therapy grew. I was able to watch one such show that featured two women who received a Tui Na massage following an exhausting day at work. The feeling of relaxation that the ladies experienced and the positive feedback from employees at the massage salon were both interesting to me.

A few years later, I attended a massage therapy school that was operated by an acupuncturist who is well-known. While I was there the instructor showed me how to give the Tui Na massage, and explained that he performed the therapy on anyone that came into his shop. I was amazed by the man with a simple appearance who appeared completely natural and did not appear like someone who would perform Acupuncture. His students were taught how to make use of their hands in a loose manner for applying pressure to Acupoints. They didn't need to rely on fingers. Before I was introduced to other practitioners who were using the Tui Na system He had me participate in one or two sessions.

My experience with Tui Na was wonderful. In one of my initial sessions, I felt if my life had suddenly transformed. I was more alert, energetic and more relaxed. I was aware that I had gained physical strength as a result of my treatment . I also felt my Chi flow effortlessly through my body. My skin was still sensitive my skin, however overall I enjoyed the Tui Na treatment.

Since then, I've been familiar with Tui Na's philosophy and fundamental principles that gave rise to its creation. Tui Na's ancient philosophy asserts that energy is present in three forms, Jing Qi and Shen. Jing is the most supple of the three , and can be easily manipulated by our bodies, minds, and even our souls. Qi is the most powerful form and is considered by Tui Na practitioners as the most powerful force that exists in the universe. Shen often referred to as the dark energy, determines Jing, Qi, and Shen's interactions and is the cause of every evil.

Tui Na believes that any one of these three energies can cause harm and ruin the connection between them and will therefore bring about the downfall of our physical existence. A competent practitioner must keep the three energies under control. A licensed Tui Na massage therapist can help. Only these practitioners are capable of safely and effectively manipulate the three energies to transform lives. It is crucial to find the Tui Na practitioner who combines the best of both Eastern and Western medicine in his practice. This specialist can assist you to achieve the health and wellness you desire.
