transcience of setting shows the ephemerality of wealth (the garden, things growing at the end versus its barren nature before) (decaying satis house that is eventually , yellowing, decrepit). shows how ones happiness with lots of money is only temporary. JAUNDICED, icteric, ancient. satis house is auctioned; the only thing that remains is the wall - WESTERN WALL, like the temple.
