How to Install PIR Sensors in Home Security Cameras
The PIR sensor's basic design is simple. The red portion connects to the positive (+) terminal of the power supply, while the black portion connects to the negative (-) terminal. Typically, this setup will be found in most home alarm systems. It can also work in commercial buildings. The instructions for installing the PIR sensors include specific instructions for each type. The PIR sensor can be installed in under an hour for most applications.

PIR sensors, unlike motion detectors are sensitive to temperature changes. They should be at least 10 feet from heating vents. They should not be placed in an area that is blocked by windows or walls. For optimum performance, mount them near entry and exit points. The best location is at the corner of a room with a wall that is parallel to the PIR sensor. Connect your PIR sensor to your home security system.

Next, wire the PIR sensor to the DVR. Locate the accessory box on the rear side of your DVR. It is usually found on the rear of your DVR and is usually green. It has one slot for your sensor. The accessory block will accept the PIR-sensor. The wires from the accessory blocks should match what is inside the PIR scanner. The left side of the sensor has the striped wire. The same should apply to the other slots.

PIR sensors operate by detecting movement. They use positive differential change to detect movement. Positive differential change is caused by an infrared object within the viewing area. It then follows that the object has left the area. In this way, the PIR sensor detects activity and pulls the alarm pin low. To activate the light in a 3.3V system the PIR output should always be pulled high. To power your alarm, you will need a microcontroller with a 3.5V voltage.

The PIR sensor uses an positive differential change. A signal that causes positive differential change is caused by a moving object. If there is no movement, then the PIR sensor will be activated. If an object isn’t detected, it’ll be ignored. A PICR sensor won't detect anything so it's a good choice for home alarms. This will give an even better picture of the activity, and alert you.

The PIR sensor should be mounted high enough to detect movement. The height of a PIR sensor can vary from 6 to 12 feet. camera an ninh should be placed in a room where surveillance is taking place. If someone enters the room, the sensor will detect motion. The PIR will alert you if an animal is in the room. The PIR will go off if it senses movement through a window.
