Don't show your hand. Whenever you show another poker player your cards (when you don't have to) they learn more about the way you play. You don't want other players being able to read you - so don't give them any information unnecessarily.

Don't overplay medium pairs. A medium pair is normally 5 - Jack. A medium pair isn?t great unless you hit trips (which is approximately 15% of the time), or else you won?t have much confidence in your hand. You can play aggressively 10s and jacks if there are lower cards on the flip, but it's not worth calling raises with these cards preflop.
